This work on paper is representative of my exploration of the dialogue between chance and structure. I am sensitive to temporal transitions (as is the case for this work, which evokes the end of night and the beginning of day). I am a morning painter, rising early to go to my studio because it is the most conducive time of day for my painting.

The red mark is a laser print on tracing paper. This red area partially covers a black rectangle, another way of representing the passage from sleep to wakefulness.

"Beyond the Morning" represents the future, hope, and opportunities. It is a new beginning, a moment of freshness and optimism where anything is possible, the transition between night and day, symbolizing the end of darkness and the beginning of a luminous period.
