This work pays tribute to my Italian roots. The colors evoke Palermo and the sublime hues of the frescoes in its historic palaces, as well as the weathered walls of its working-class neighborhoods. Sicilian reds are a blend of nature, tradition, and passion: the earth, the sky, and the local produce tell the story of an island with a strong character and a rich history—a deep red, laden with symbolism.
The incorporation of geometric shapes and varied textures symbolizes the island's multicultural heritage, shaped by Arab, Norman, and Baroque influences.
"Colors Of Sicily" seems to capture the energy and warmth of Sicily through a vibrant palette of reds, pinks, and whites, evoking the Mediterranean light and the island's cultural richness.
The addition of paint splatters contrasts with the geometric precision, suggesting a dialogue between architecture and the traces of history that are gradually fading away.
