There are times when I feel the need to mix colors; to create new hues; to push the limits of what I thought was possible. And then; there are times when I find myself superimposing layers to find the right shade in the composition. Sometimes you have to lose a magnificent color to replace it with one that will resonate with all the others in a fragile balance... seeking beauty in imperfection.I actually covered an area in the center of this work on paper; it is a trace that we can guess. I covered it because it didn't suit me. But once covered; I knew I had to stop there; because this imperfection; which has become almost invisible; enhances the entire composition.
