Summer Dew (Rosée d’été), acrylic and pigments on canvas.
Dew as an ephemeral trace
Dew is fleeting by nature: it forms during the night and vanishes at daybreak. This transitory quality is embedded in the very texture of the work: the pink and magenta splashes bursting across the upper section evoke suspended droplets, captured at the moment of their fall or evaporation.
Geometric structure as a vessel for life
Two rectangular planes overlap and shift against one another: a black square traversed by a fine line (set against a white background) and a solid violet rectangle. This rigorous architecture contrasts with the exuberance of the splashes and the text. Life slips into the geometry; order gives rise to overflow.
"Summer Dew" is a meditation on that which cannot be contained: the season, the morning dew, a word written in haste. The work evokes a state of transition—neither night nor day, neither writing nor silence, neither rigor nor chaos—through a palette that oscillates between the coolness of deep violet and the burning intensity of fuchsia pink. It is summer dew: something beautiful, intense, and destined to vanish.
