In Japanese poetry; mountains are often used to symbolize eternity and the transience of human life; in contrast to the permanence of nature.
I love to contemplate the mountains that I have the privilege of seeing from my studio in Switzerland.
Distant mountains are the silent temples of the soul. When I look at them from the bay window of my studio; they are an invitation to retreat from the tumult of the world; a sacred space to create. In their majestic calm; they offer a refuge for the inner journey; a space where thoughts wander and gather like clouds around the peaks.
