From my studio in Switzerland; I can contemplate two mountain ranges: the Jura and the Alps. In the morning; the mist over these mountains creates a special atmosphere characterized by a mixture of mystery; calm; and beauty.

Mountain mist often has an evanescent quality; moving slowly and creating constant variations in the landscape; which interests me greatly as a painter. I observed a similar fascination in the work of the great English painter William Turner.

Mist adds a mysterious and romantic dimension to the mountain landscape. It hides and reveals landscape elements; creating a sense of discovery and intrigue.

The diffused light through the mist creates a soft color palette; with pastel tones and subtle shades that accentuate the natural beauty of the mountains.
