A veil lifts; a mist that veils our gaze. Birds; like elusive thoughts; gradually fade from our sight.
Patrick Piccinelli evokes this sentence from a text by the Swiss poet Anne Perrier which he relates to the pictorial process. Certain layers of paint existed on the canvas like the passage of birds in the sky. Then the painter covers the color with another shade. He remembers the first layer but gradually forgets it.
This poem represents a metaphor for painting.
When birds lurk in the air; our senses are stimulated to perceive the world in a new way; to recognize that even when we lose track of something; there is still a mysterious beauty in the unknown."I'm soaring
I lost track of the birds in the air."
