This work is framed but without glass. The midnight sun is this orange shade created with an aerosol spray which contrasts with black and blue like a sun in the middle of a Mediterranean summer night.
Piccinelli loves above all the dialogue between the sign; the trace; the informal and the structure.
The black trace resonates for the painter like a piano solo in a contemporary jazz trio.
We can still perceive typography on the surface of the black rectangle; under the aerosol layer. This half-erased inscription is a visual metaphor for the souvenir images of memory. These images remain but sometimes fade little by little.
The black trace is made on a transparent acetate fragment.
