Patrick Piccinelli aspires to find new formal solutions in the creative field of abstraction.
This work "Untitled no 67" mixes several ways of placing the paint on the canvas.
The cadmium red trace in the white square is made with a diluted acrylic color (which lets the titanium white layer show through). On the other hand; in the quinacridone pink zone; the color is thicker; saturated and added with pigment.
The squirts come from a gesture; from an assertive action (the brush projected with force on the canvas).
Finally the geometric areas are painted flat; that is to say in the most homogeneous way possible (almost like a printed surface!)
