The composition is structured around a series of nested rectangles. A large, flat area of ​​vivid red occupies the lower section and the sides, forming a massive, saturated base. Resting upon it is a smaller, vivid orange rectangle that creates a luminous overlay; as orange is a warmer and lighter color, it appears to literally float above the red. A rectangle outlined in a fine blue line contains and frames the composition, introducing a cool tension into this realm of warmth.

Finally, the upper edge of the orange area is treated differently: a granular, splattered, almost volcanic texture—created by eruptive, projected paint—forms an irregular border that contrasts with the strict geometry of the rest of the work.
