In this work; I explored the depth of blues. Layers of acrylic; lacquer and ink are superimposed to create a texture that encourages contemplation. My abstract; geometric minimalist work offers a meditation on calm and infinity; inviting viewers to dive into a world of tranquility and deep reflection.
The title of this composition is inspired by "West Coast Blues" a jazz standard composed by Wes Montgomery.
It adopts a swinging rhythm; characteristic of jazz; while having a relaxed groove; reminiscent of the sunny and laid-back atmosphere associated with the West Coast of the United States; hence the title.
This standard is found several times in my playlists; performed by Nancy Wilson and the Horace Parlan Trio.
