For me; Coney Island beach is a perfect visual metaphor for my pictorial research. It is a peaceful place because the walker can contemplate the ocean and the calm line of the distant horizon. But it is also a place full of life; contrasting colors and music because of the Coney Island funfair. I love the serene minimalism of the oceanic landscape compared to the hustle and bustle of the fairground attractions. This contrasting dialogue is what I try to achieve in my painting. Like a vibrantly colored fresco; Coney Island Beach paints a vivid picture of contrasts; where the sound of fun mixes with the soothing murmur of the sea. It embodies the very essence of life; offering a fleeting; yet memorable getaway ; to those who dare to venture there.
