This work on paper was produced with several media: acrylic aerosols; collage; scratching. The clean; minimalist aesthetic of the advertising for the Saint-Laurent Paris brand inspires Patrick Piccinelli. For this reason; he decided to incorporate the typical typography of this Parisian fashion house into his collages.The title refers to a jazz concert at the "Village Vanguard" which is a famous New York jazz club located at 178 Seventh Avenue in the Greenwich Village neighborhood. The live is really the privileged moment for the musicians to improvise. This dialogue between rhythm and improvisation influences the creative process of Piccinelli who seeks a balance between structure and the nuanced sensibility of traces and splashes.
