The composition is articulated on a double axis of symmetry. The horizontal axis shares the blue area with the "white" area.

The vertical axis partially separates the orange yellow trace. The trace is lighter on the left and conversely the blue square is lighter on the right.

The elements on either side of the axes resemble each other (shapes and chromatic nuances) but at the same time are never completely alike.

Patrick Piccinelli also established a visual dialogue between glossy surfaces and matt and satin surfaces.
