The work does not depict a literal sea scene; but captures the essence of a maritime voyage through abstraction. The different layers and textures symbolize the depths of the ocean; the waves; and the movement of the ship.

The dominant blue; with its varying shades; evokes the sea. The splashes and blotches of paint represent the foam; sea spray; and turbulent energy of the ocean. The white areas and calmer textures symbolize moments of serenity during the journey.

I composed a balance between calm and more dynamic elements; reflecting the ups and downs of a sea voyage.
