I applied the ink with an expressive gestural style that disrupts and disturbs the geometric order. I wanted the traces, splashes, drips, and imprints to sweep across the surface like gusts of wind. These spontaneous marks create a diagonal movement that contrasts with the rigor of the horizontal lines, literally embodying the unpredictable breath of the wind.
One senses a tension between the geometric structure and the organic, uncontrollable force of the wind (the traces). The ink projections that overflow the colored frames suggest that nature—the wind—refuses to be contained by our systems of organization.
This work is part of an approach that combines the legacy of geometric abstraction with gestural expressionism, creating a visual composition where the visible and the invisible meet.
