The work is structurally divided into two distinct zones, separated by an implicit vertical line:

On the left: a large, dense, matte rectangle in a blood-burgundy hue—the color of a burnt leaf, aged wine, or late twilight. It represents the substance of autumn: solid and earthy.

On the right: an airy, white surface—almost empty—capturing the residual light, that which the night has not yet absorbed.

This division embodies the title: the transition between the fading day and the night that has not yet fully arrived.
